existing changes: how the new subsidy will benefit your family
Big changes are on the way for Australian families — and they could mean significant savings on your childcare fees. Here's everything you need to know about the latest subsidy updates and what they mean for you.

what's changing?
The Australian Government has announced a series of meaningful updates to the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) designed to make quality early learning more accessible for more families. The changes aim to increase the subsidy rate for families earning under $530,000, remove the annual cap for those on higher incomes, and introduce greater support for families with multiple children in care.
For many families, this could translate into hundreds — even thousands — of dollars in additional savings each year. At Active Learners, we're passionate about making sure every family understands how these changes might affect them.Adding Content to the Canvas
who benefits most?
While all families using approved childcare services may see some positive impact, the changes are particularly significant for a few key groups. Middle-income families are set to see the most noticeable increases in their subsidy rates, as the income thresholds have been adjusted upward. This means families who previously sat just above the threshold for higher subsidies may now qualify for considerably more support.
Families with multiple children in early learning will also benefit greatly. Under the new structure, the subsidy rate for the second child and subsequent children in care will be increased by up to 30 percentage points. For a family with two or three children attending an early learning centre, the annual savings could be substantial.

how it works at active learners
At Active Learners, the subsidy is applied directly to your fees — so you only ever pay the reduced out-of-pocket cost. There's no need to claim anything back. When the new rates come into effect, eligible families will automatically see their fees adjusted.
Our Centre Managers are fully across the changes and ready to help you understand exactly what the updates mean for your family. Whether you're already enrolled or considering joining us, we can walk you through the numbers and help you plan ahead.
